Roncesvalles Carhouse Extension

Constructed for TTC's new Bombardier streetcars, the Roncesvalles Carhouse Extension is a state-of-the art maintenance facility. The extension is a 2,050 sm two storey addition to the existing TTC Roncesvalles Carhouse on the east side of the existing facility. The facility is a two car-spot, single bay facility designed to accommodate "prototype" and daily servicing activities on the new Low Floor Light Rail Vehicle ( LFLRV ) vehicles. A new sophisticated stainless steel piping sand dispensing system was installed to modernize the sand filling methods for the new LFLRV. The project included sophisticated DC power and control systems used in the maintenance of the streetcars.
